WALLDORF — SAP SE today announced the winner of the “Manufacturing Partner Mobility Contest,” which took place at a recent SAPinsider 2014 event held in Las Vegas. EIS Incorporated was selected from a panel of industry analyst judges and by audience votes. The company’s demonstrated OpsTrakker manufacturing operations mobile application, which is built on SAP Mobile Platform and compatible with a variety of devices, brings manufacturing executions systems functionality to the user’s hand, providing material consumption reporting, production output reporting, line clearance activities and equipment use logging as part of the suite, reducing paperwork from the shop floor.
In the winning demonstration, EIS revealed the electronic logbook module as it captured information for an operations maintenance log of the calibration of a weigh scale. This demonstrated the efficiency from which manufacturing shop floor workers can digitally track manufacturing execution at the point of work, instead of utilizing paper. The demonstration utilized the mobile device to scan barcode identifying the device, through which the application then checks the operations status of the equipment, guides the maintenance worker through the individual maintenance steps, capturing information including electronic signatures verifying completion of the work.
“OpsTrakker by EIS Incorporated is a tool that manufacturers that are making operations available via mobile should seriously look into,” said Mike Lackey, vice president, Manufacturing Solutions, SAP. “This is an example of innovation which is being delivered by our partner ecosystem extending the value of manufacturing solutions from SAP.”
“We are very proud to be recognized by the judges and the SAP user community that voted for us,” said Rajeev Joshi, vice president, Products & Special Projects, EIS. “OpsTrakker offers a truly mobile experience for operators and others in the value stream. By leveraging SAP Mobile Platform, our solution offers a high-value equipment use log application on any device with seamless connectivity to any backend. The tangible and intangible return on investment to our customers is outstanding.”
