ALBANY, NY (04/30/2009; 1436)(readMedia)-- The School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS), Region 11 was pleased to award Alexandra Nenni of Spencerport High School as the Region's annual student scholarship award winner. The award was presented during the region's annual Awards Ceremony and Reception on April 28 at the Doubletree Hotel in Rochester.
Nenni plans on attending college to become a physician's assistant and thanked her principal, Ty Zienkiewich for his encouragement and support.The event also acknowledged the following local region 11 award winners:

OGS to Award over $7.9 Million in New Construction Contracts
ALBANY, NY (04/30/2009; 1401)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for 13 contracts representing more than $7.9 MILLION in new construction, providing work in five counties of New York.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All but one of the low bidders are New York State firms.

ALBANY COUNTY
Hazardous materials, electrical, heating and ventilation, plumbing and elevator contracts were bid to upgrade passenger elevators at the The EGG in Albany, NY.
Hazardous materials: Suburban Restoration Co., Inc. of Hawthorne, NJ was the apparent low bidder out of one firm. The low bid was $38,870.
Electrical: O'Connell Electric Company of Victor, NY was the apparent low bidder out of nine firms. The low bid was $554,600.
Heating and Ventilation: S & O Construction Services, Inc. of Pleasant Valley, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $81,560.

ULSTER COUNTY
Electrical and heating and ventilation contracts were bid to replace boilers Building Nnos. 36, 40, 41and 42 at the Highland Residential Center in Highland, NY.
